Civil Litigation

We represent plaintiffs and defendants in many areas of civil litigation, including wrongful death, serious personal injury, contract disputes, commercial transactions and civil rights.  We also regularly litigate cases arising from or related to our other practice areas, including land use, real estate and probate.  Our attorneys have tried numerous cases in Pennsylvania and New Jersey state and federal courts and regularly appear before judges from the local District Justice to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.  In addition, our attorneys are versed in the availability of alternative dispute resolution and, when appropriate, will take advantage of mediation and arbitration opportunities.  In many cases, our attorneys will work together, sharing each other’s experience and knowledge, to provide superior representation.

Land Use / Zoning / Municipal

The attorneys at Baldi & Jenei are known for their experience before municipal boards.  Our firm currently serves as solicitor for the Borough of New Hope and the Warrington Township Zoning Hearing Board.  In other municipalities, we regularly represent landowners and purchasers before zoning hearing boards, planning commissions and boards of supervisors in applications for subdivision and land development approvals, variances, special exceptions, conditional uses and other municipal matters.  We work closely with engineers, surveyors, realtors and other professionals to ensure the client’s best case is made.

Criminal

We represent clients in a variety of criminal matters, both in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.  We handle all levels of criminal cases in Pennsylvania, from minor summary traffic or non-traffic offenses brought before the District Justice to serious felony offenses such as homicide by vehicle and murder.  In New Jersey, we handle all matters in Municipal Court including traffic, driving while intoxicated, and disorderly person charges.  We also handle indictable offenses brought before the New Jersey Superior Court.  We have the somewhat unique advantage of practicing in Pennsylvania and New Jersey and our attorneys are able to give advice and handle the sometimes complicated situations that arise from criminal or traffic incidents that have an effect in both states.

Baldi & Jenei realizes being charged with a criminal offense is one of the most traumatic events in a person=s life.  If a person is charged with a criminal offense or believes they might be charged with a criminal offense, we invite them to come into our office to sit down and talk with us, explain the facts to us, and receive our counsel.  In a great majority of criminal matters we do not charge for this introductory counseling session.  After learning about the potential client=s case, we discuss the realistic possibilities that face them. Clients often appreciate our painting realistic pictures of the criminal justice system and our attempt to anticipate their potential outcome within that system.  In many cases, what seems like a minor traffic ticket can have disastrous consequences such as a license suspension or mandatory jail time.  We believe that it is critical that a person facing criminal or traffic charges speak with an attorney before making important decisions, even if those matters appear, on the surface, to be insignificant.

Real Estate

We represent clients in a variety of real estate transactions, including residential, commercial and undeveloped land purchases and sales, residential and commercial leasing, refinancing and, in connection with our land use practice, development.

Buying a Home:  Baldi & Jenei recognizes that the purchase of a home may be the most significant transaction a person ever enters into.  Our attorneys provide personal attention every step of the way to ensure a smooth process from listing to closing.  Among other things, we will carefully review the Agreement of Sale, assist the client in obtaining and reviewing inspection reports, order and review title insurance commitments and attend settlement.  Most importantly, we will address any issues that arise during the purchase process and ensure that our client is protected.  We approach every transaction with the knowledge that every client, and every transaction, is unique.  A lawyer is the only person that can provide you with legal advice during the course of the transaction, and we work only to protect your interests.

Estate Planning

Baldi & Jenei recognizes the great importance of providing a comprehensive estate plan to assist clients in reaching their goals of providing for their families in the event of death.  Every client meets exclusively with an attorney to discuss their individual needs.  The attorney then works with that client, and the client’s financial planners and accountants when appropriate, to craft a plan that is best suited for the client’s unique circumstances, including a thorough analysis of the tax consequences of the client’s estate plan.  While a Will may suffice in some instances, many times the client and attorney need to discuss and consider other planning strategies, which may include the implementation of a Living Trust, Irrevocable Trust, Irrevocable Life Insurance Trust (ILIT), Qualified Personal Residence Trust (QPRT), Family Limited Partnership (FLP) or other estate planning device.  A General Durable Power of Attorney and Healthcare Power of Attorney / Advanced Directive is prepared for every Estate Planning client, if requested.

Estate Administration

At a time of loss, the last thing a person wants to think about is the legal process of transferring their loved one’s assets, resolving their debts and finalizing their affairs.  Our staff works with grieving family members to get them through the probate process as quickly and easily as possible.  We assist the estate representative in every stage from petition for letters to final accounting and distribution.  While we encourage all families to work together in settling disputes, we are prepared to represent parties in interest to ensure that the true intent and desires of the deceased are honored.
